Are pets allowed?

The hotel is not suitable for pets. Registered service animals can be booked to stay during your stay. Please note that 14 days notice is required, along with a copy of the certification and service registration, plus proof of vaccination and preventive flea & tick treatments. Additional cleaning charges apply including carpet cleaning for these pre-arranged stays. Please note that pets and companion animals cannot be accommodated at the hotel.

Commentary that is defamatory, obscene, offensive or violent; trolling, spam, fraudulent or misleading; repetitive or continuous; discriminatory; sexually explicit; virus-bearing; commercial solicitations; disclosing third-party personal information; or primarily aimed to discredit staff, will be removed.

Where's the nearest Tesla charger?

There are 2 Tesla charger spaces located 250m from the hotel in the Homemaker Centre South car park street level, opposite the Tesla Service Centre & Showroom.

Where can I store my bike?

In order to cater to cyclists we have provided 36 purpose-built bike racks on levels 2 and 3 of our secure carpark; you will need to supply your own securing lock if required. Please note bicycles are not permitted in public areas, lifts, corridors or apartments, and bicycle cleats are to be removed prior to walking through any part of the property.

Is the hotel non-smoking?

The Chester Hotel is a smoke-free, non-smoking property. We strive to provide a safe and healthy living environment. Please note any identified smoking on the premises will incur a minimum $200 AUD cleaning charge and future reservations are unable to be accepted.

Is the rooftop open to the public?

The rooftop recreation level is for the exclusive use of registered hotel guests and residents. Only registered guests are provided access above the ground floor of the hotel.

What hours is reception open?

Hotel reception is open 24 hours daily. Housekeeping services are available from 8.30am to 5pm daily. Should you wish to add additional services to your booking please contact the guest service team to have this added to your reservation. 24 hours notice is required and a charge for any additional services will be added to your room account.

Is there parking?

Yes - parking is subject to availability and is recommended to be pre-booked with the guest services team. When a direct reservation is made with the hotel (via this website, in person or by telephone the parking charge is from $15 per vehicle per night. For reservations made through all other portals, websites or travel agents, the standard parking charge is from $30 per vehicle per night. The parking height limit is 2.1m and parking is subject to availability; we recommend you pre-book. Your registration is required to be issued a car park access fob. Vehicles not registered with the hotel team are subject to towing, with towing and impound costs incurred by the driver/owner of the vehicle.

What about sustainability?

The hotel prides itself on continually improving its environmentally friendly practices and reducing its carbon footprint. Policies include changing linen weekly and servicing apartments every third day rather than daily for long stay guests, and offering the choice to opt out of daily housekeeping for shorter stay guests, which assists with reduction of water and power consumption and non-essential waste. All apartments are fitted with energy-efficient lighting and water-efficient flow regulators. Rainwater is collected and stored on site for use in garden areas. All common areas use energy-efficient LED lighting operated via sensors. Recycling bins for glass, bottles, cans, paper and cardboard are available on each floor. Recyclable bottles and cans are collected weekly by charity partner Branches Lifestyle Support, which provides work experience for their residents and funding for supported independent living assistance for adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

How long is lost property held?

Lost property items are held for a maximum of 14 days. At this time any items not collected or confirmed for despatch are donated to Helping the Homeless.

Is the hotel Australian owned?

Yes, The Chester Hotel is an Australian designed, owned and operated apartment hotel facility in the ever-changing Fortitude Valley.

What are your terms and conditions?

When is housekeeping?

Housekeeping services are based on the package booked. Our standard housekeeping offering for flexible daily rates is twice weekly. Monthly rates include a weekly housekeeping service only. Additional housekeeping services can be booked at cost with 24 hours notice.

Where can I eat and drink?

The Chester Hotel offers a chargeback service from neighbouring restaurants and cafes which provide our guests variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner: Piccolo by Him; Ristorante Tartufo; Icing Hill; El Cafe; Uber Eats - various restaurants.

Can I pay contactless?

Yes. Once your reservation has been made, you will receive a pre-arrival email with the option to pre-pay your stay via a secure link. Please note with 'Advanced Purchase' promotions, payment is taken at the time of booking.

Which rooms have a balcony?

One Bedroom Executives all have a balcony. This room type is positioned on the Chester street side of the hotel in the direction of Brisbane CBD. Some One Bedroom Apartments also have a balcony, however please note they do not offer a view and are positioned at the rear of the hotel which faces a residential building. We remind all guests that the property is 100% smoke free, this includes balcony and rooftop areas.

Do you have suites or a penthouse?

No. We are an apartment hotel and offer apartment-style accommodation ranging from Studio rooms through to Two Bedroom Executive Apartments. You can view our room type options by visiting the menu bar of the website and selecting Apartments.

How many guests per room?

Studio / One Bedroom Apartment / One Bedroom Executive - maximum of 2 guests 1 x Queen bed. Two-Bedroom Apartment / Two-Bedroom Executive - maximum of 4 guests 2 x Queen bed. No extra guests permitted. No rollaway bedding. No sofa bedding.

What facilities do you have?

Rooftop - open between 6am and 10pm daily. Cardio room gym - no free weights. Heated rooftop pool. BBQ's - please book with hotel reception. Sun lounges. Undercover pavilion with seating and table.

Can I book the rooftop privately?

How do I redeem a voucher?

If you have a hotel voucher you will need to book directly via our reservations team. Contact reservations and quote your voucher number and advise your preferred dates of stay. The reservations team is available 24-7. Please note that you must submit your voucher in person on arrival to use this item.

How far is Fortitude Music Hall?

The Fortitude Music Hall is 900m walk from the hotel, located in the Brunswick Street Mall, Fortitude Valley.
